AFA Gel Max (19% AFAs)
Formulated with our patented AFA blend of amino-based filaggrin antioxidants, AFA Gel Max is very potent and comparable in efficacy to a 19% AHA formula, but with a perfectly balanced pH causing very little irritation. AFA Gel Max effects a significant improvement in pigmentation by exfoliating, and is our most advanced formula for addressing concerns about acne, large pores, dull skin, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, rosacea and overall tone and texture and contains Vitamin C to support collagen production.
AFA Gel Max 19% is expertly balanced to take full advantage of the benefits of low pH to ensure maximum patient benefit, while effectively guarding against irritation and redness.
Patients using AFA Gel Max 19% will experience concentrated benefits leading to improved tone and texture, reduction in fine lines and a minimization of free radical damage.
Patients should never start using the AFA Gel Max without an appropriate progression and acclimation.
AFA gels are non-comedogenic, fragrance free, and hypoallergenic.
How to Use
Wash face with AFA Cleanser. Dispense no more than a dime-sized amount of gel onto your hands. Rub together to evenly distribute the product and then apply to the entire face. Do not rinse off and do not spot treat. When working your way up on the gel percentage products, observe for signs of irritation. If no irritation occurs within 24 hours you may leave gel on overnight, but usually it is best to consider putting and leaving it on for a few hours the first time when moving from Gel Mild to Plus to Max. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Work your way up to Max after using Plus. Use of a daily sunscreen is recommended.
It is recommended that patients begin with the Mild Gel as it is formulated with the lowest concentration and allow their skin to acclimate to a daily AFA Exfoliating Gel application. Once the patient has finished the bottle of AFA Exfoliating Gel Mild, if they feel they need to take a step up, they may then advance to the AFA Exfoliating Gel Plus and from there to the AFA Exfoliating Gel Max if required. This progression is based on individual patient tolerance. Patients should only progress to the strength that their skin can comfortably tolerate. Very sensitive, dry patients may not progress beyond the Mild Gel. While other skin types may increase to the Plus Gel quiet easily.
A few patients who have been using other cosmecetucical products prior to beginning the AFA program may be able to begin with the AFA Exfoliating Gel Plus strength, but this decision is best left to the discretion of the qualified medical care professional. Patients should never start using the AFA Gel Max without an appropriate progression and acclimation.
