3 STEPS TO HOLIDAY-READY SKIN

As the holidays sneak around the corner––who doesn’t want to put their best skin forward? Since there’s no better time to get started than a few weeks before any big event, we decided to put together a few tips you can follow to make sure your glow is on point before your holiday festivities!

TIP #1: FACIALS ARE YOUR BESTIE

Facials are your seasonal best friends, as splurging on a professional facial is one of the best ways to get a flawless and healthy glow right before the holidays. Depending on your skin type and its current needs, there are many types of facials (from rejuvenating peels to gentle, hydrating facials) that will help you naturally reveal a stunning glow.

Pro tip: we highly recommend booking your facial 4 to 6 weeks in advance (AKA, as soon as possible!). That way, your skin will have the chance to go through a full rejuvenation cycle and any skin purging you may experience will have passed.

TIP #2: EXFOLIATE

Another great way to prep your skin canvas is to exfoliate twice a week. Regular exfoliation will help slough away the dead and dulled skin cells that accentuate fine lines and wrinkles. Unless you have irritated or highly sensitive skin––in which case it is recommended to exfoliate only once a week––it is safe to gently exfoliate bi-weekly during the winter.

There are different types of exfoliators: chemical and physical. To avoid harsh abrasions, we recommend integrating a chemical exfoliator such as an AHA/BHA or a retinol. It is also wise to start these treatments a few weeks before your holiday parties to avoid unwanted irritation or once again, skin purging.

TIP #3: SELF-CARE ALL THE WA

As the date of your holiday party (or parties) approaches, make sure to up your self-care game! Eating nourishing foods, drinking plenty of water and getting some restful nights of quality sleep will largely contribute to keeping your skin looking its best.

Make sure to continue your regular, winter-adapted skincare routine: that means a quality moisturizer, double-cleansing every night to remove all of your makeup (no matter how tired you are!), and using the restorative serums and masks that work best for your skin type. Since you’re likely going to be indulging this season (which is, in part, what makes it so fun!), make sure to treat yourself with a bit of extra TLC beforehand.

On that note: we can’t wait to celebrate the end of this year and we are so happy to be part of your skincare journey. Until next time: take care of the beautiful skin you are in!
