Are You Vitamin or Mineral Deficient?

Are You Vitamin or Mineral Deficient?

At the cellular level, the body depends on vitamins and minerals to survive, repair, and function properly. Every single cell in your body requires these nutrients to produce energy, support immunity, regulate hormones, and maintain healthy tissues. Without them, the body begins to whisper first… and then eventually speak louder through symptoms like fatigue, weakened immunity, poor digestion, brain fog, brittle hair, low mood, allergies, and chronic inflammation.

In my practice, I see this every day. People are eating, yet their cells are still starving.

Why? Because nourishment is not only about what you eat — it is about what you absorb.

Millions of red blood cells are constantly dying and being replaced every second. This renewal process depends heavily on key vitamins and minerals, along with proper circulation and digestion. When nutrient levels are low, the body simply cannot keep up with repair and regeneration. The result is low energy, slower healing, and a body that feels depleted even when you are “eating well.”

The truth is, every part of your body is built from the nutrients you consume — your hair, skin, eyes, bones, blood, muscles, and even your nervous system. If the quality of nutrients is poor, the quality of cellular health declines.

One of the biggest nutritional challenges today is the overconsumption of processed and overly cooked foods. While cooked foods have their place, excessive heat can damage delicate vitamins, minerals, and most importantly, enzymes. Enzymes are essential catalysts that help break food down so it can actually be absorbed and used by the body. Without adequate enzymes, digestion becomes sluggish, and even the healthiest meals may not deliver their full nutritional value.

This is why I always emphasize the importance of incorporating a high percentage of raw, living foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables. In their natural state, these foods are rich in intact vitamins, minerals, water content, and enzymes that support digestion and cellular nourishment.

Another key factor is age. As we get older, our natural enzyme production declines. This means we must become more intentional about consuming enzyme-rich foods to support digestion, absorption, and overall vitality. Many people assume they are deficient because of poor diet alone, but in reality, it is often a digestive issue preventing proper nutrient uptake.

Research consistently shows that many individuals are commonly low in essential nutrients such as vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, and calcium. Modern soil depletion, stress, poor food quality, and busy lifestyles all contribute to these widespread deficiencies.

While supplements can be helpful, they should never replace real, whole foods. Nutrients do not work in isolation — they work synergistically. For example, calcium is best absorbed when paired with magnesium, potassium, and trace minerals. Taking isolated “one-a-day” supplements without addressing diet and digestion may not provide the results people expect.

The most effective and sustainable way to maintain optimal vitamin and mineral levels is through a nutrient-dense diet focused on whole, natural foods. Sunlight exposure for vitamin D, leafy greens for magnesium, citrus and colorful fruits for vitamin C, sea vegetables for minerals, and a variety of raw fruits and vegetables daily can make a profound difference in cellular health.

When your cells are properly nourished, everything improves — energy, immunity, digestion, hormonal balance, and even mental clarity.

Remember, deficiency does not happen overnight, and neither does rebuilding. The body is incredibly intelligent. When given the right nutrients, in the right form, with proper digestion, it has an amazing ability to restore balance and vitality.

Feed your cells well, support your digestion, and the body will do what it was designed to do — heal, repair, and thrive.
