THE BEGINNING 

 

Growing up in a Provence village, René Furterer developed a deep appreciation for the scents and colors that would later inspire his future formulas. When he worked in his wife’s hair salon, he noticed the women longed for the beautiful blonde locks of Marilyn Monroe–but their hair suffered from the damage. 

 

Furterer was one of the first of his time to push the boundaries: he was the first to create plant-based products that included both the luxurious feel of highly-effective products and a high level of sensory appeal. He went on to develop the Complex 5, a remarkable blend of essential oils that became a significant part of his haircare products.

 

FURTERER’S METHOD

 

In 1957, René Furterer created etheirology (etheirology, from the Greek etheira, hair, and etheiro, to heal), the philosophy of scalp health and hair beauty. He put this approach into practice in his first hair Spa in Paris, by developing a three-step method: "Prepare, Wash, Treat ”, which, following a precise preliminary diagnosis, offers a unique care routine based on precise steps.
