WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

By becoming a Vera-Certified company, we have committed to offset 10 plastic items from our oceans with every order you place. In other words, every purchase made through our website will contribute to keeping our oceans healthy and clean—and that's something we're excited about.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Lucky for us, keeping plastic out of the ocean couldn't be simpler.

Vera is a membership-based platform that offers a simple, reliable way to offset your plastic footprint. They have partnered with Plastic Bank, a social enterprise committed to stopping ocean plastic while providing work opportunities in impoverished countries in the process.

With the help of Vera and several other contributors, Plastic Bank has created over 20,000 jobs in countries that do not have proper waste-collecting systems such as Indonesia, Haiti, and the Philippines. So far, Vera members alone have prevented 773,826 plastic items from entering our oceans!

The less plastic in the ocean, the fewer ocean animals suffer. Also, less floating pollution means ingesting fewer microplastics in our food, water, and products—one of the most pressing environmental issues of our lives.

Vera runs on a blockchain system, meaning the entire experience is encrypted and totally transparent. Blockchain is like a public ledger that can never be altered and is viewable by everyone. Since all transactions are recorded on the blockchain, it creates a completely traceable, auditable supply chain that guarantees Vera's (and consequently, our) promise.
