Travelling is amazing! You get to meet new people, taste delicious foods, experience different cultures, and take a break from daily routines. But for those of us who strive to stay fit and healthy, travelling can present some real challenges—especially when it disrupts our exercise routines or usual eating habits. It’s all too easy to return with a few extra pounds after indulging on vacation. However, with some planning, you can stay healthy on the road without missing out. Here are some tips to help you do just that:

One of the best ways to stay on track is to book accommodations with a kitchenette or access to cooking facilities so you can prepare some of your own meals. Eating out three times a day can easily lead to overindulgence. Plus, having a place to make quick, healthy meals gives you more control over what you eat.

 

Packing healthy snacks for your flight is also essential, as you can’t always rely on nutritious options during travel. Bring along some apples, organic crackers, or a small salad in your bag. If you’re travelling for an extended period, consider bringing some staple food items to maintain your regular diet as much as possible.
