Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up every single day and love your skin unconditionally?

 

The good news is: it’s entirely possible. Yes, you read that correctly!

 

Being confident in your skin isn’t necessarily a given–that, we know. It isn’t always easy to accept our imperfections and be ready to put our face forward on a day where we aren’t feeling like our skin is at its best. And yes, it happens to ALL of us!

Affirmations are a huge part of our self-care routines here at BSE. It’s simple: affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome those negative, self-sabotaging thoughts. They are incredibly powerful tools that when repeated over and over, begin to take change of your thoughts. Self-affirmations are also shown to help mitigate the effects of stress.

BE PATIENT

 

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a perfect glow! Many of our skin concerns are treatable and manageable over time, but you need to be patient with yourself. If you are using the right products (in the right order!) and applying them properly, you shouldn’t beat yourself throughout the process.

 

Skin turnover takes time, and some days will include imperceptible changes and imperfections. Keep the ultimate goal in mind and continue to treat your skin right without throwing in the towel on a bad day.

When people feel that they look good, they typically feel better and more confident about themselves. Certain self-care activities––like moving your body, practicing gratitude, sleeping well, and drinking enough water––undoubtedly affect the way you feel about yourself.

 

By doing these things, you feel happier and better about yourself. You also decrease your stress levels, which in turn, is linked to slowing down the process of aging. Also, the less stressed you are, the less inflammation you’ll experience!
